Peptides in skin health
Separating cosmetic claims from clinical signal in beauty applications.
Peptides have become common in both topical skincare and systemic protocols aimed at skin quality, wound healing and tissue integrity. GHK-Cu is one of the better-studied examples.
What the science suggests
Certain copper peptides and related compounds appear to support collagen production, modulate inflammation and aid tissue repair in laboratory and clinical settings. Results depend on concentration, delivery method, duration and individual biology.
Topical vs systemic
Topical formulations act locally. Systemic approaches (including pre-filled pens) deliver the peptide more broadly. Choice depends on the specific goal, surface appearance versus deeper tissue support.
Realistic framing
Peptides are not a replacement for sun protection, retinoids where appropriate, or good basic skin care. They are best viewed as one possible layer in a broader strategy.
